About Mental Edge
Built for athletes. Powered by purpose.Mental Edge was created by Alec and Kayla — two people who understand the intense highs and hidden struggles of sport. It’s not just an app. It’s the support system we wish existed for every athlete who wants to grow mentally, perform consistently, and feel free in their game.
Later, working as a mindset and performance coach, Alec began to see the same pattern in athletes across every sport:
- 1. They needed mental support.
- 2. They couldn’t afford traditional therapy or coaching.
- 3. They wanted to get help discreetly — without judgment.
That’s when he teamed up with Kayla — a lifelong athlete who played field hockey competitively for the joy of the game and who’s deeply passionate about helping others overcome mental blocks. Together, they built Mental Edge to be the tool they wish they had.
Why It Exists
🧬 About the Founders

Alec
Alec is a peak performance coach, former elite athlete, and someone who knows the mental grind of sport firsthand. After representing Australia at the U21 level and competing in WA’s top hockey leagues, he turned his struggles into his mission: helping athletes unlock their mindset, find peace, and perform freely. Mental Edge is his way of scaling that support — so athletes don’t have to go through it alone.

Kayla
Kayla is the heart behind the brand — driven by connection, purpose, and support for others. With a background in marketing, admin, and years of experience in competitive field hockey, she understands the day-to-day life of an athlete. She’s passionate about helping young athletes get access to the tools they need to thrive mentally and emotionally in sport and in life.
